Mr Browne, Mayor of Newcastle, has purchased the interest held by Mr John Waddington’s syndicate in Western Australian Railways, and formed a oompany for the construction of the line from Guildford to Geraldtown. The French officials are indisposed to grant the postal concessions asked for by Sir G. Berry and Sir S. Samuel, but ask further time to consider.
