Chinese Stunned And Robbed of £800

AUCKLAND, Nov. 15. A 70-year-old Chinese, Sim Sun, when opening the door to his home, a shop in Grey’s avenue,_about 8.30 last night, was attacked and robbed of £5OO in bank notes and £320 in bank drafts. Knocked out by a blow on the jaw, he recovered consciousness to realise that the money was missing from a coat pocket. was swollen and his' lip cut, but- he did not need medical attention. Sim Sun told th e police that as he approached the recessed entrance to his shop he noticed three men in the doorway. He asked one: “What’s matter boy-” The reply was: “Nothing.” As he put his key in the lock, he was struck a heavy blow and fell. When he recovered consciousness the three men were running down Grey’s avenue. The money in the parcel belonged to his son in Hamilton, wno intended sending a bank draft for £320 to China. The police search began immediately. .
