CHILD KILLED UNDER TRUCK

P.A. HASTINGS, Oct. 10. A two and a-half year old Maori child was run over and killed by a truck, which was being backed at Morea station on the Hastings-Els-thorpe Road this afternoon. lie was Renata Pere, son of Leo Walker Pere. farm labourer. The truck had brought a load of shearing gear to the Morea station, and had stopped at the Pere residence. Some time later it was decided to shift the truck and Morehu, Hadfield, aged 17, moved the heavy vehicle about 10 feet. On alighting he found the child had been run over by a reai- wheel, and was dead.
