Raids On Several Clubs P.A. AUCKLAND, Oct. 7 There was consternation around Taumarunui to-day, when a police party carried out raids on three clubs and seized quantities of liquor. The raiding party visited the Cosmopolitan Club, which had a membership of one thousand. A large truckful of liquor was seized. The police then went on to the R.S.A. Club where further liquor was confiscated. The police then visited the Taumarunui Club, and they confiscated a quantity of beer. Earlier raids were made, last Saturday on clubs at Matere and Ohura, and liquor was also seized.
