RUNANGA BAND CONCERT

Last evening the Greymouth Municipal Band gave a concert at tne Miners’ Hall in Runanga. The Mayor Mr G. E. English, who introduced the band before a packed house, said that the Band would be going to Auckland to participate in the forthcoming contest. The composition ‘‘Ravenswood played in fine martial style, was wel. received, as were other tunes. Items were given by Mr R. Malpass, Mr Ray Hill (violin), Miss Bellamy, Mr F. Stacy (piano-accordeon), Mr W. Hutton (/'‘Resisting The Guard”), Mr James Allan (musical saw), and Mrs Haglund (“The Piper From Over The Way”, and “Cherry Ripe”). Tne Band' further numbers included a hymn, “The Gondoliers,” “Charm p! the Waltz,” ‘‘Recollections (Verdi), and a march.
