Proposals for Teachers’ Houses
P.A. WELLINGTON, October 1. Some schools are unable to obtain the services of the best applicants for vacancies on their staffs because of Ute lack of suitable living accommodation. To overcome this problem, the New Zealand Education Boards’ Association decided at its conference today to ask the Minister of Education to make provision for the cost of granting applications from boards forthe erection or purchase of suitable houses for head teachers and first assistant masters in the primary schools, in both town and country. The association also decided to seek an increased grant for fuel for - heating schools in the colder areas.
