P.A. WELLINGTON, Oct. 1. Situation: A ridge of high pressure covers the Central Tasman Sea. Pressure remains low south-east of New Zealand.
The forecast to 5 p.m. on Saturday: Moderate south to east winds predominating. The weather for the most part fair to fine, but some scattered showers north of Hokitika. Temperatures rather cold. Further outlook: Fair.
