Motor Collision Injures Four Men
WELLINGTON Oct. 1.
A railways bus which had just completed the Taumarunui-Wellington run yesterday was being returned to the garage along Aotea quay and was turning into the garage when it was struck by a van belonging to Cable and Co., engineers. Four were injured:— Leonard A. Dear,' time-keeper, Miramar, deep wound to the forehead, fractured ribs, laceration to the right knee, multiple injuries, and concusion.
James May, stock clerk( Hataitai, incised wound to the forehead, injury to ribs.
David O’Brien, time-keeper, Lower Hutt, fractured left arm, lacerations to the right cheek, shock, concussion.
W. P. Cleever, blacksmith, Lower Hutt, injuries to the ribs, shock. It is believed all of the injured men were in the cab of the van at the time. Mr O’Brien was driving. The driver of the bus (Mr J. A. Head) escaped injury. ■
