New York Airmen Have Picket at Height of 10,000 Feet

NEW YORK, Sept. 19. A sky-writing picket spelled out the word “Scab” to-day ten thousand feet above New York’s international airport on Long Island. On the ground below, ceremonies were being held to mark the beginning of the National Airline’s flight operations at the world’s largest airport. While the pilot wrote the word in the sky, other pilots marched, outside of the Airport Administration building, protesting against an alleged unfair labour practice in refusing to rehire them following their striking early this year.
