U.S. Wants Speed-up Of West European Union Defences

Mr. Ernest Bevin (Foreign Secretary), is returning from Cornwall on Monday to receive Mr. Gladwyn Jeob and his report on United States discussions on European Western Union defences, says Reuter’s diplomatic correspondent. It is understood Mr. Jebb will report that the United States is impatient at what tis regarded as slow progress with the expansion of the Western Union to include other European States in the Western Union. . The Foreign Ministers are meeting this will coincide with the London in Luxemburg in October. Probably meeting of the British Commonwealth Premiers, at which the Western Union will be one of the vital subjects.
