Clerks Protest At Communist Influence In Their Union

MELBOURNE, August 30. An elaborate plot to sabotage a meeting of 500 clerks, called to make a protest against Communist influence in their union, failed because thp members disregarded bogus messages. The Australian Labour Party industrial group within the union advertised the time and place of the meeting, hut hundreds of the clerks received bogus notices in the mail that the meeting had been transferred ‘to another hall. The chairman said he had proof, that nearly 1,000 clerks had received the fake notices.
