N.S.W. to Try Swedish Prefab. Houses

SYDNEY, Aug. 30. The New South Wales Minister of Housing (Mr Clive Evatt) said that an order' had been placed by the New South Wales Government with a Swedish firm for four experimental prefabricated homes. If they prove satisfactory contracts would be drawn up for hundreds of ready-cut wooden houses from Sweden for the Housing Commission. The experimental houses ordered ade of different types, and they will cost £660 each. Only the wooden components will be imported, the roofing, glaziny irohwork and all fittings being, added in New South Wales. The houses will be two Dedroom types of about 750 square leet.
