WATERSIDE DISPUTE.

GISBORNE, August 29. Representatives of the Waterfront Industry Commission with delegations of shipping interests and the Waterside Workers’ Union on Tuesday will start hearing the dispute which has halted waterside work at Tokomaru Bav since the middle of July. This action followed representations by East Coast businessmen to the Tokomaru Bay Harbour Board. Speakers expressed the belief . that public interests were being sacrificed to a contest over procedure, and that in the face of information concerning conditions at other ports there seemed to be an anomaly in the award.
