JAP. GOVERNMENT ORDERED OUT OF EXPORT CONTROL
[N.Z.P.A.—Reuter Cable], (Received August 10. 11.25 p.m.) TOKIO, August 10. A major elimination of Japanese Government control over the export trade was ordered to-day by General MacArthur’s Headquarters. The directive becomes effective on Monday next, August 15. The S.C.A.P. has authorised Japanese sellers and foreign buyers to conclude export contradts directly, instead of via the Government Board of Trade. . Controls generally will be retained over foreign exchange, international prices, and the allocation of critical raw materials.
