It will be transhipped for the rest of its voyage to Onekaka, where the trials are to be made as soon as the wharf has been extended and made ready for its reception. Meanwhile the collection of ironsand for use in the trials is nearing completion, and most of the concentrate lies on the wnarr at Patea, awaiting shipment. Mr. D. S. Nicholson, Associate of Otago School of Mines and Senior Mineralogical Engineer of the Department, who is co-ordinating the whole process, expects that a total of eighty tons required will be reached before the end of this week. A further twenty tons of beach sand will accompany the consignment as a reserve for experimental purposes, and when this is ready, the consignment will go to Onekaka as soon as shipping space is available.
