Accommodation For Single Workers At Runanga Inadequate
At the meeting of the West Coast Trades Council held on Friday night a letter was received from the E.F.C.A. regarding the _ proposed building of a hostel for single men at Runanga. With the definite shortage of suitable accommodation for single railway workers in Greymouth, the E.F.C.A. considered a central hostel would help to alleviate the position. [ It was decided that tile Council get into touch with the appropriate Government officials, the E.F.C.A. and the Miners’ Union concerned to discuss the question, and so arrive at a solution of the problem of accommodation for single workers in this area.
