YOUTH FOUND UNCONSCIOUS IN MAWHERA QUAY
John Gardner, a youth, of Sturge Street, Cobden, was found liying unconscious in Mawhera Quay about 11 o’clock on Saturday night. Mr A. Mundy, who first saw Gardner, sent word immediately to the police. Constable R. Hickling was quickly on the scene. The police soon had the injured youth conveyed to the hospital. It was known Gardner, was riding a motor-cycle at the time, apart from which no further details are known. The police are making inquiries, but it is not thought that the cause of the mishap will be ascertained until Gardner regains consciousness. Up till last evening he was still unconscious.
