ANGLICAN MINISTER AT SYDNEY LEAVES RUSSIAN SOCIETY
SYDNEY, Aug. 5. The Rev. E. J. Davidson, rector of St. James’s Church, Sydney, has resigned from the Australian Russian Society, of wheih he has been chairman and an executive member The nresident of the society is the New South Wales Minister of Housing, Mr Clive Evatt, a brother of Dr H. V. Evatt (Australian Minister of External Affairs). Rev. M r Davidson said his decision was “in the interests of my personal integrity and because of ,my unwillingness to he associated in the remotest way w ; tb Communism.” He added that his view was not anti-Sovietism should he resisted, but that unqualified ann>*oval of Russian methods was eouallv wrono - . A former member of the Communist recently described the Russian Society as a “Communistcontrolled "on-nndv organisation.”
