Kirby, of Greymouth. is spending a holiday in the district. The funeral of the late Mr Thomas Ford took place last week. A lengthy cortege testified to the high esteem in which the deceased was held. Rev. Mr Bathurst took the service, both at the church and the graveside The Rugby fixture between Harihari and Weheka was postponed on Sunday on account of the weather. Messrs G. Wright, and T. Foster paid a business visit to Hokitika last week. , J J , A good manv local residents travelled to Greymouth on Saturday toattend the race meeting at Omoto. One visitor was of the opinion that if the club had had the luck to strike a line day the meeting would have been a greater success. Mr H. Cassells was convened to the Westland Hospital on Saturday for treatment, after having been knocked over a' cyclist the previous week. Mr and Mrs Henderson, of Gust, are on a brief visit to South Westland. Mr W. Foster is on a visit to Christchurch.
