Infantile Paralysis Continues in North

The infantile paralysis position was disturbing, but a close watch on the incidence of the disease was being maintained by) the Health Department, saM the Minister of Health, Miss Howard. The fact that cases were still being reported proved that the disease was not peculiar to warm weather. Miss Howard said. At Auckland hospital, the number of patients is now 50 positive and two suspect. A positive case of infantile paralysis, a voung married woman from Tamumu, has been admitted to the Waipukurau Hospital. WELLINGTON, May 31. Two schools in Wellington which were kept closed last week because of poliomyelitis notifications in their locality reopened to-day. Precautionary measures had been taken in Featherston after the admission to the Masterton Hospital at the week-end of a positive patient, who was attending the Featherston High. School, This is the fifth case from the district. The school is now closed. Featherston children under 16 are forbidden to go to the pictures.
