EARLY MORNING VANDALISM

Two men, who were apparently under the influence of liquor, smashed the glass windows of the public telephone box opposite the Regent Theatre at 12.15 o’clock this morning. The police, acting on information, instituted a search , for the culprits, who were last seen disappearing up Mac Kay Street, and into a right-of-way. Upon investigation, it was discovered that a small tree had been uprooted from someone’s garden and used to smash the glass panel in the telephone booth, a close inspection of this tree having revealed fragments of glass adhering to the roots. ’
