Rifle Shooting

Excellent shooting conditions prevailed on the Pakahi range Er>* the week-end when the Westport Defence Rifle Club held the second shoot of the fifth competition over 300, 500 and 500 yards. Although, the attendance was not as good as usual some consistently high scoring was recorded. Six riflemen compiled totals of 97 and over and the best was J. R. Keoghan with 101 off the rifle. N. Perkins and L. Hutchison were next with 98. Counting 7 shots at each range final scores were as follows - — J. R. Keoghan 101, N. Perkins 100, L. Hutchison 98, D. Marr 100. L. Mitchell 100. N. Palmer 100. J. Marshall 100,J. J. Rossiter 98, D. Turner 95, C. Emerson 100.
