MOANA SCOUTS’ FIELD DAY

The Moana Scout Troop commemorated their first anniversary at Moana on Saturday when sco.uts and cubs from Westport, Inangahua, Cobden, Greymouth and Gladstone attended a field day. A number of Girl Guides from Greymouth also attended, the gathering numbering about 200.

During the day. inter-troop competitions were held, and the Scouts were taken ok launch trips. In the evening they gathered round a camp fire. Tfiis was followed by a dance for the older member of the movement.

Mr A. L. Sutherland, county commissioner, expressed pleasure at the progress made by the Moana troop, which now numbers 34 cubs "and 20 scouts, and also at the standard attained.
