PARIS, April 4. The annual conference of the Com-munist-led Confederation of Labour passed unanimously a resolution opposing the American European recovery programme which -‘imperilled the existence of essential French ployment.” The conference urged all workers and delegates in .joint industrial committees throughout France t o give help to the committees for the "defence of French industry against me menace of expansion of American trusts.” The Communist union chief, M. Benoit Franchon, said that, the industrial committees alone were capable of setting France’s affairs in order, but. asked: “Why develop our production capacity when all the doors are being thrown wide open to American manufactured products?”
