Part of Ballantyne’s To Re-open

CHRISTCHURCH, April 2 A section of J. J. Ballantyne and Company’s buildings has been renovated and will be open to the public on Monday. It is at the west end of the Cashel street frontage under the tearooms, where fire damage was the lightest Complete renovations have been made to the interior and the frontage and yesterday displays were arranged in the windows. For some days the traffic lights on the corner of Cashel street and Colombo street have been functioning again. They were disconnected when the'xflre occurred on November 18. Trams from the south which since the fire have been stopping at the High Street intersection, this week resumed the normal stopping at Cashel street.

Relish: Mesdames Reynolds 1; Bradley 2; Dunwoodie 3. Peg: Mesdames Richardson 1; Murray 2; Bradley 3. Prizes for yearly competitions were: Bloom. Mrs Bradley; baking Mesdames Robertson and Murray equal: needlework, Mrs Murray. Mrs Dodd presented the prizes to the winners and the cup for best aggregate number of points to Mrs Murray.
