OBITUARY

Mrs. Thomas Ford

The death of Mrs Thomas Ford, of Harihari,,- at the Westland Hospital last evening, removes an old identity of Westland. Born at Blue Spur 78 years ago, the late Mrs Ford was a member of the Martyn family, her father having been one of the first gold prospectors in the district. She had been in ill health for some months, and recently suffered an injury from a rail. Besides her husband, she is survived by six sons, Thomas and James Ford (Harihari), Harry Russell, Charles Russell (Park Hotel, Greymouth), Arthur Russell (Invercargill), and Walter Russell (Wellington), and two daughters, Mesdames G. Manship (Harihari) and S. Miles (Rotorua). She also leaves three sisters, Mesdames S. Benyon (Nelson), J. Reiha (Christchurch), and G. Meharrv (New Plymouth), and one brother, Mr W. Martyn (Harihari).
