1,000 MILLION DOLLARS FOR JAPAN THIS YEAR
U.S.A. Aid Figures [N.Z.P.A—Reuter Cable], TOKIO, March 30. The Prime Minister of Japan, Mr Ashida, predicted that American aid to Japan during 1948 would amount to about 880,000,000 dollars. Japan would also receive from the United States 150,000,000 dollars from a trade revolving fund, 60,000,000 from cotton credit fund, and also various other amounts, making a gross total of about 1,000,000 000 dollars.
