N.Z. TAX AGREEMENT WITH U.S.A. WILL INCREASE TRADE

Mr. Nash’s Expectations (Received 8.30 p.m. March 30) SAN FRANCISCO, March 30 A fifty nation trade pact had been concluded at Havana, and it was an event unpredecented in human annals, declared Rt. Hon. Walter Nash on Monday here. Mr Nash is here on his way back to New Zealand after attending the Havana conference. He said: “It is the first time in history that so many nations have adopted agreed rules of trade. Ultimately, this agreement will end trade discrimination.”

Mr Nash is taking with him an agreement between New Zealand and the United States to end the double taxation of those companies that are operating in both countries. "This will undoubtedly attract new American business, and will help to ease the dollar shortage which is now restricting trade between the two countries,” said Mr Nash.
