THIRD N.Z. LIBERTY LOAN

Opening Next Tuesday

P.A. AUCKLAND, June 1. A war loan of £<15,000,000, will be opened next Tuesday. It was to have been .announced last week by the Minister of Finance, Hon. W. Nash, in the financial statement. and was to have been opened to-day, but was deferred owing to the d'eath of Mr Coates. rrv,-,-d It is to be known as the Tniicl Liberty Loan. This loan is by tar the largest opened by the Government as a means of helping to finance war expenditure. The First Liberty Loan was opened on May 4, 1942. It was for 115,000,000. The Second Liberty Loan was floated last. October. It was for £10,000,000. Subscribers to the new loan will be able to buy either stock, or bonds, or to place their money in loan by way of National War Savings accounts. , , Advance subscriptions are already well in excess of £4,000,000. There will be two issues of stock. One will be of 21 per cent stock, payable on June 15, 1947-49. The other will be of 3 per cent. It will be repayable on December 15, 195356. _

The minimum subscription for the stock will be £lO, and the price of issue £lOO per cent. Interest will be paid on all money from the date 0 j receipt.
