CARICATURES THEATRE MANAGEMENT. LONDON, February 28. An ironical three-act sketch, ‘‘Her Own Little Tragedy,” being enacted at the Coliseum Theatre by Aladame Elsie Pechy, the Hungarian actress, who after touring the English provinces in a play, was replaced in the lead for the London season by Aliss Moncrief f, the Australian, by the management of Daly’s Theatre. The sketch “Her Own Little Tragedy,” opens with the actress leceiving the theatre manager, who announces: “I have bad news for you. Your accent, you know. We are most particular in our theatre.” To which Madame Pechy replies: “It is an outrage,” and dissolves into tears. The second act consists of her singing in England for the purpose of convincing the management she is capable.
In the final act Aladame Pechy awaits the verdict attired in mauve pyjamas trimmed with swansdown and repeating English phrases such as “It is not a fine day.” The telephone rings She is rejected. She turns to the audi' ence and repeats disconnected guide book English, adding “I’m very well iflhank you,” sinks into a chair. Mean-
