FIRES.

WELLINGTON, Feb. 21. A fire broke out yesterday afternoon in Munt Cotterill’s stables, Tinakori Road, in which were 25 horses. All were got out alive, but seven were so badly burned that three had to be destroyed, -while the other four will need the attention of a vet. The building was badly burned. FEILDING, Feb. 21. A Makino store and dwelling house, owned by Mrs Jeffries, and occupied by D. McElroy, were completely destroyed by fire at an early hour on Sunday morning. No person was on the premises at the time. The Cheltenham Dairy Co’s big factory in the next section had a narrow escape. The insurances are unavailable. TAUMARUNUI, Feb. 21. A seven-roomed house belonging to >S. Bishara, Taumarunui, was entirely consumed by fire «on Saturday evening about nine o’clock. /The brigade was very promptly on the scene. The fire apparently originated between the roof and the ceiling. The insurance was £BOO. The insurance on the furniture is not available.
