FRENCH EXECUTIONERS HARD UP PARIS, Feb. 20. The idleness of executioners has become an affair for the State. Three executioners are paid each £25 per annum, plus fees for each execution, but there was only one job among the three in the last eight months, whereas before the war, there was at least one or two each month. M. Poincare promised to consider the men’s grievance, and said that if there was nobody to guillotine, the executioners must not starve.
