WHARE REGULATIONS.
Thefollowing regulations bave been passed by the Borough Coancil of Hokitika and gazetted. They contain a hint to tbe Corp >- ration of Greymourb, who have as yet done nothing to fortify the hands of the harbormaster:— \ 1. All goods, merchandise, or things deposited on the wharf, or on the roadway contiguous thereto, in pursuance of these regulations or otherwise, must be removed by five o'clock p.m. of the same day upon which they shall be discharged from any ship or vessel. .2- No timber or merchandise of any description shall be placed on the wharf for shipment or otherwise, until the vessel to* receive the same is berthed ; and no timber, cargo, or other material for inward or outward transit, shall be deposited at a distance of less than 12 feet from the 'edge of the river, so,. that a clear gangway shall at all times be kept, between the mooring piles and the, outer edge of the wharf through its entire length. '••'-• ; ; 3. No timber 'shall- be allowed to remain on the wharf or roadway contiguous thereto (for more than 2^t hours after the same shall have been deposited or lefc for shipment, j 4.
