The Inland Communication Committee and a majority of the Gold"Fields"memr berg in the .Council had a conference in re the railway. The Gold Fields members insisted on protection of autiferdu^ land from the operations of the proposed* company, and for stipulations similar to ihosa in force under the Gold Fields Act.
