She left at 6 p.m. on the 25th, and brings 16 cabin, 9 steerage passengers, and 166 tons cargo for all ports. Passenger List : MrArdell,Mrs and Miss Ardell, Miss Smith, Mrs Hardy, Miss Hardy, Mr Baige, Miss Smith, Mr Minchin, Mr M'Dougall, Mrs M'Dougall, Messrs Helliker, Barnstin, Cairns, and Hay man. Melbourne, May 25. | The Birthday levee yesterday was but poorly attended. There was no accommodation for ladies, and none were present. The Volunteer review was the finest seen here. Three thousand volunteers were reviewed by the Governor. There was a very large attendance. Alexander, belonging to the Engineer Corps, was blown to atoms through the explosion of a mine. The Somersetshire arrived in fifty-five days. She had small-pox on board, and was put in quarantine. The tariff is much condemned. The Assembly is debating the Budget, to which there is much opposition. Markets firm. Flour, Ll7 ; wheat, South Australian, 7s to 8s ; New Zealand, 6s 8d ; oats, 3a 4d to 3a 7d. Arrived — Wonga Wong ; Windhound, from Lyttelton. Adelaide, May 24. Mr Parkes interviewed the Chamber of Commerce and also the Government in reference to the Californian Mail Service. Nothing decisive was arrived at, and he left by the Coorong, for Melbourne. Apprehensions are entertained for the safety of the clipper Columbus, now 104 days out. The Mayor was knocked down accidentally by a carriage on tbe Queen's Birthday at the close of the holiday levee. Wheat held firmly at 6s Id. Sydney, May 24. The Assembly is debating the Estimates. It is reported that the Russian frigate Nitray is on an exploring voyage to New Guinea. A vessel from the South Seas reported that a white woman was seen on the beach of New Britain. The Birthday Review and Ball were successful. The schooner Emma Patterson has been wrecked near Noumea. I Arrived — Isabella, from Lyttelion.
