ABERDEEN TERRACE.

This is likely to become an important place. Besides the prospectors, James Law, William Clarke, and party, there are two other claims on gold. Law's party are in over 100 ft, but the party next to and north of them, Alick Bain and Co., have found the gold at the surface. The lead strikes into the terrace at the Southern end, and the tunnels are therefore longer at that end. David M'Nish and party, who are next to Law to the south, are in 250 ft. Rae, Robertson, and party are next, about the same distance in, and on gold. One of this party, John Caird, .was one of a company who prospected this terrace from the Abe's Gully side years ago. James Patterson and Co. are next, they are in 200 ft. M'Cormick and Ponlson are next, andthere are several other parties preparing to begin further along. This terrace overlooks the Main Creek, nearly opposite Steel's Gully, and it is nearly on a level with the ground, at present being worked by Moutamlan unit party, in Monument Creek, and by Divid Marshall and John Courtios parties, overhanging German Gully. There is no doubt good patches will be found all along the range ; but the scarcity of available water at such a high elevation will always be a drawback. A track has been cut to one end of the terrace by Mr James

Mulloy, another is being made to the and other end of it by Mr John Mawou. In some of the claims, shoots to carry the ■washdirt to the -water had to be made, aud others of them are constructing darns ; although this place has a very lively appearance, the owners of the different claims are all old residents of the district, and they have a thorough knowledge of the country. s '
