ARRIVAL OF THE ENGLISH MAIL
VIA SUEZ. NEWS TO THE 3rd OCTOBER, [By Electric Telegraph.] (From the West Coast Times.) Bluff Hakbor, Tuesday. The s.s. Tararua arrived this morning at the Bluff with the September mails from Europe at five o'clock. Adelaide, October 27. The Rangatira, Captain Granger, arrived off Glenelg at half -past four p.m. The passage occupied 100 hours from King George's Sound. In consequence of an accidental delay in leaving Adelaide, the Rangatira did not reach the Sound before half-past two a.m. on the 20th, but was in time to deliver the mails on board the Avoca, which waited a few hours for her arrival. The upward passage occupied 119 hours. The Geelong, Captain Skottowe, arrived at the Sound at eight a.m. on the 23rd ; left Galle at two p.m. on the Bth instant ; experienced very strong trades, constant head winds, and high seas from Galle to the Sound. «
