OHOKA AND EYRETON RACES. This annual meeting takes place to-day on the Domain near Mandeville, and is within easy distance of the railway. The City Guards Band have been engaged, and the attractions and improvements to the course are numerous.

AUCKLAND RACES. AUCKLAND, December 23. There was a good muster at the racecourse this morning, but little fast work done. Welcome Jack did the Cup distance, moving very freely. He finished in fine style, the last three-quarters of a mile being run in Imin 22sccs. Rewi did liis trial <j-allop, and old Yatapa was sent with him for the first mile, Randwick bringing him home from the three-quarter mile post. His time was 4min ICsecs, which was very fair, considering he ran in shoes and carried 101 b overweight. He is reckoned to have an excellent outside show. December 24.
