[press association telegram.] WELLINGTON, December 22. The following is Wahanui’s letter to the Hon. Mr Bryce :

Whatiwhatihoe, December 9. To Mr Bryce, Minister for Native Affairs. Greeting—Tour letter of the 15th November has reached me, and I haveseen your words with reference to your word that it was through me, through the Ngatimaniapoto, that Tawhiao did mot consent to what you said at "Whatiwhatihoe. This is my reply. .It was mot through me, it was not through the Ngatimaniopoto, that Tawhiao did not approve of what you said. With regard to other words let them remain to be discussed by me and the whole of my tribe. That is all from Wahanui.
