[per press association.] WELLINGTON, December 8. The steamer Napier struck Barratt’s reef on leaving the harbor last night, and arrived at Picton this morning with her forefoot injured and leaking. The Marine Department have received the following telegram from the Customs officer at Poxton: —The master of the cutter Hero, arrived from Akaroa, reports seeing some wreckage on the sth inst. Ho ran alongside and found it to be a vessel’s foremast, painted yellow, and floating upright. He thinks it is that of the briganEsther ; Cape Campbell bore south by west, distant about seven miles.
