Mr Ritso, agent of some English capi talists, who, it is expected, may bo induced to take up the construction of the Thames and Te Aroha railway, has come up from Wellington, and will visit the Thames. A design, under the motto “ Kaiapoi,” by Mr Otto Peez, out of four for the new bridge at Kaiapoi, was approved by the Borough Council last evening, subject to its approval by the Government Engineer, and that the accepted contract should not exceed Mr Peez’s estimate. The second best design was under the motto “ Iron.”
