Severe floods have occurred in various parts of France. The announcement of the intended visit of M. Giers to Prince Bismarck, and to Count Calnoky de Korospatak, Minister for Foreign Affairs for the Austrian Empire, has created a great sensation throughout Europe. Wholesale desertions are occurring amongst the Egyptian troops ordered for service against the false prophet.
