[beuteb’b telegrams.] Bt Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received November 14th, 10 p.m. MELBOURNE, November 14. Arrived, this evening—P. and O. steamship Kaiser-i-Hind, with the English mails via Brindisi and Suez, dated London, October 6th. Received November 14th, 8.40 p.m. SYDNEY, November 14. Arrived, this morning—The Union Company’s steamship Wakatipu, from Wellington. The inquest upon the bodies of the men who were drowned by the sinking of the Austral, was resumed to-day. Captain Murdoch was examined at length, but he was unable to account in any way for the foundering of the vessel. Divers have continued their examination of the ship, but they have not recovered any more bodies, and the fate of the Lascar firemen, who it is believed were drowned, is still unknown. The Marine Board inquiry into the circumstances under which the immigrant ship Northampton struck on the reef at Port Hacking on the 21st ult. was concluded to-day. The Court found that the captain was to blame for the casualty, but have postponed dealing with his certificate until Monday next.
