There was a large turn out on the training ground this morning. Most of the horses did three-quarters work. Guesswork was going very strong inside the course, and Frj ingpan, 8a Tanaka, Segenhoe, and Pro. methoua were doing steady work, evidently preparing for the great trial. Lord Burghley and Jessie went twice round the course, the filly pleasing greatly by her excellent form. Cunnamulla, Sardonyx, Darebin, Bagot, and Stookwell did good useful work. The rumor about Sting being sold to the bookmakers is quite untrue. Segenhoe is now at 7to 2, and 4tol is wanted. A considerable amount of money has bean invested on Sting at 8 to 1. The favorites for doubles now are Navigator, Sting, Sweet William, Onnnamulla. Received October 26cb, 1,25 a.m. The, following is to-night’s betting on the Melbourne Cup: —Cunnamulla, 10 to 1 ; Mistaken and The Drummer, 20 to 1 j Prometheus, 10 to 1; Savsnaka, 20 to 1Latest betting on the Derby is—Guess work, 10 to 1 ; Boolka, 12 to 1 j [Pryingpan, 20 to 1; Calma, 20 to 1; Prometheus, 20 to 1. The odds on the other horses are unchanged. Mistaken and Little Jack have been backed for £6OOO each. Beoeived October 26th, 1 50 p.m.

Branohe’s stables appears very sweet indeed about the chance of Mistaken for the Cup—--100 to 4is taken. Little Jack, from the eame stables, appears most in favor with the public, however, and has been backed for thousands at 100 to 10. 100 to 12 is taken freely about Sting, and he has been backed lor thousands at 9 to 1 j Mr Bouse, his owner, offers 1000 level that he beats both Little Jack and Mistaken. For the Darby Navigator is now firmer than ever at 6 to 4 j about Segenhoe 100 to 25 has been taken and offered, and about Guesswork 100 to 10 is offered. A large commission has been executed about Boclka at 100 to 8.
