Received October 22nd, 10 30 a.m. MELBOURNE, October 21,
The local agent of the P. and O. Steamship Company has received a telegram reporting that the steamship Peshawnr, with the homeward mail via Snez and Brindisi, dated Melbourne, September 26th, came into collision with a barque shortly after leaving Colombo, Ceylon, and has |>ut back to effect repairs. The damage sustained by the Peshawnr is not of a serious nature, and it is expected that she will start again on the 23rd inst.
Private advices announce that the nine first prizetakers from Victoria at the Bordeaux Exhibition were as follows : Adamson, Melton, Crosse, Ritchie, Johnson, Castella and Rowan, Brnhn, Tabilk Vineyard, and Caughey. Received October 22nd, 5.30 p.m.

Further telegrams to hand state that the Peshawnr has returned to Colombo, having in tow the barque Glenloy, with which she collided. Both vessels are damaged. The necessary repairs for the Peshawnr will bo effected without delay, and she, is expected to be able to re-start for Melbourne in a few days. Received October 21st, 4.40 p.m. SYDNEY, October 21. The ship Northampton which struck on the reef off Port Stacking, was sue* cessfully towed into Botany Bay, and beached there, and the immigrants safely landed. The casualty occurred owing to the heavy fog which obscured the land. Sailed—This afternoon, the steamship Wakatipu, for Wellington.
