The weather was fine, and the attendance about 500. The game was well contested, and ended in a viotory for the Wellington team by one goal and two tries (nine points) to one goal (tiro points. Tho tries on the Wellington side were obtained by J. Thomson, MoGregor and MoCardle. H. Bayley obtained a try for Wanganui, and his brother George kioked i. pretty goal. The Wanganui men were the favorites at 5 to 4, but little money changed hands.
