[ keutbe’s telegrams.] LONDON, September 5. The cricket match Australians v Notts was resumed to day. The home team, with five wickets down for 41 runs, continued their first innings, and were all disposed of for 111. Shrewsbury was
the highest scorer with 28. The Ans tralians then went in for their second innings, and when stumps were drawn for the day had scored 114 for the loss of only two wickets, McDonnell being not out with 41. The weather was showery during the day, and play was occasionally stopped.

Smallpox at Capetown ia spreading, and a large number of deaths are reported. Official reports show a gratifying decrease of crime in Ireland. Earl Spencer, replying to a memorial, promises to reinstate a number of the Irish Constabulary who were dismissed for taking part in the recent strike.
[“age” special.] LONDON, September 6. It has been ascertained that tho collapse of the military-bridge over the ravine at St. Petersburg was caused by Nihilists, a torpedo having exploded under the structure.
