[bbtjtkb’s thlkgeams.] MELBOURNE, August 17. Arrived this morning—The Union Company’s steamship Arawata from the Bluff.

His Excellency the Governor presided at a meeting which was held this evening for the purpose of organising a Musical Festival Association, on the model of those held periodically at "Worcester and Gloucester, England. A resolution in favor of the object of the meeting was warmly supported. SYDNEY, August 17.

Sailed, this afternoon—The Union Company’s steamship Ringarooma, for Auckland.

Sir Henry Parkes arrived here to-day, and was accorded an enthusiastic reception. The Mayor presented an address of welcome. The banquet in Us|honor was held this evening, at the Exhibition building, and was a great success.
