LONDON, August 16. The cricket match, Australians v Derbyshire, was resumed at Derby to-day. The weather was fine, and there was a large attendance. The Australians continued their first innings, which finally closed for a total of 180—51 behind their opponents. In addition to the scores already telegraphed, Horan was caught for 24. The Home team went in for their second innings, and were all disposed of for 78. The Australians then, requiring 130 runs to win, went in for their second innings, and when time was called they had pnt together 71 fora loss of five wickets. Bannerman, c 24, and Murdoch, b 32, were the highest scorers. The match was drawn, the Australians having 39 runs to make and five wickets to fall. The ground was not in good order.
