[EEUTEE’S TELEGRAMS.] MELBOURNE, August 16

Speaking at a banquet given in his honor last evening. Sir Henry Parkep strongly advocated the federation of the Australian colonies, or at all events the union of Victoria and New South Wales. He stated that his travels had confirmed his conviction of the future prosperity of Australasia.

The Legislative Council has consented to a Conference with the Assembly on the question of the Licensees Qualifying Bill, which was recently rejected in the Lower House.

BRISBANE, August 15

In the Legislative Assembly to-night, the Hon. Thos. Mcllwraith, Premier and Colonial Treasurer, made his financial statement. He estimates the revenue for the current year at £2,180,000 and the expenditure at £2,060,000. Mr Griffith has in the Assembly given notice of motion in favor of payment of members of the Queensland Parliament.
